Frequently Asked Questions

How do I mix Boom Slushy Syrup?

Mix 1 part syrup with 4 parts water. For example, mix 1L syrup with 4L water to make 5L of slushy mix. One 5L bottle of concentrate makes 25L of ready-to-freeze slushy mix.

How many servings does one 5L bottle make?

A 5L bottle makes 25L of mixed product. That is approximately 71 × 350ml servings before allowing for normal wastage and overfilling.

What Brix level should I aim for?

Aim for approximately 13° Brix, subject to your machine’s settings and manufacturer guidance. Use a Brix meter or refractometer for the most consistent result.

If the mixture stays too liquid, it may contain too much syrup or the machine may need adjustment. If it freezes too hard, the mixture may need slightly more syrup. Recheck the ratio and Brix before changing the machine settings.

Is nationwide delivery really free?

Yes. Standard delivery anywhere in South Africa is included in the product price, so no separate standard delivery charge is added at checkout.

How long does delivery take?

Orders placed and paid before 12:00 on a business day may dispatch the same day once payment has cleared.

  • Gauteng and major centres: approximately 2–8 working days.
  • Cape Town and other distant or outlying areas: approximately 4–8 working days.

Courier delays and peak periods can affect these estimates. Tracking is supplied after dispatch.

Which cups and straws should I use?

We stock clear 350ml and 500ml cups, matching dome lids and extra-thick 12mm slushy straws. Clear cups show the colour of the slushy and the wider straw makes thick frozen drinks easier to enjoy.

Can I collect in Rustenburg?

We keep limited stock at 238B Kerk Street, Rustenburg, but we primarily operate online and do not have a walk-in shop. Please contact us before visiting so that we can confirm stock and arrange collection.

What is the return and refund process?

You may request a return within 7 days from the date of purchase. Less than 50% of the product may have been used. The customer is responsible for arranging and paying for the return. Once received, the product will be inspected and, if it meets these conditions, the refund will be processed.

Can I add alcohol to a slushy?

Alcohol changes the freezing point and may affect the performance or warranty of some slushy machines. Check your machine manual first, test a small batch and record your recipe. Adjust carefully instead of adding a large amount at once.
